New polypropylene tips enable parallel pipetting of 1536 channels

Analytik Jena is expanding its liquid handling portfolio with a new 1536-tip tray for the CyBio Well vario. In combination with the appropriate pipetting head, this consumable enables parallel pipetting in 1,536 channels.

The polypropylene pipette tips ensure exceptionally high purity and error reduction, supporting volumes from 100 nL to 8 µL – ideal for high-throughput applications in the pharmaceutical sector and basic research.

The new 1,536-tip tray was specifically developed to meet the challenges of miniaturisation. The particularly straight tips, combined with the precision of the pipetting head, ensure the highest accuracy when working in 1,536-well plates. Mispositioning is avoided, resulting in exceptionally high reproducibility. This allows for easy downscaling of samples while maintaining precision and significantly reducing reagent consumption.

The pipetting head and tip magazine can be quickly and easily exchanged. Advantages of the polypropylene material include its purity and chemical resistance, as well as its hydrophobic surface, which reduces liquid adhesion and potential errors. Additionally, when downscaling samples from 384 to 1,536, the influence factor due to the change of laboratory articles is eliminated. This increases the reproducibility of results and simplifies screening workflows.

The new consumable was also developed with sustainability in mind: The pipette tips are produced carbon dioxide neutral, and the magazine can be easily recycled in a single material stream after use. Combined with the durable CyBio Well vario platform and efficient reagent consumption, it makes a significant contribution to more environmentally friendly laboratory work.

The new single-use tip tray for the CyBio Well vario is available now, offering laboratories a powerful, sustainable, and economical solution for parallel high-throughput pipetting in the 1,536 well format.
