New anti-GFP antibodies from Jackson ImmunoResearch

Jackson ImmunoResearch, a manufacturer of secondary antibodies and immunoreagents for the life science market, has expanded its range of products for scientists seeking to harness the utility of the GFP (green fluorescent protein) tag.

GFP is a common fusion protein tag that enables protein expression to be monitored, quantified, and localised within the complex environment of the cell (Lippincott-Schwarz 2001). Anti-GFP antibodies enable the detection of GFP fusion proteins, offering utility under conditions that could preclude the tag's use.

Jackson ImmunoResearch AffiniPure Rabbit Anti-GFP is an affinity-purified polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit. It offers versatile detection of Aequorea victoria Green Fluorescent Protein (avGFP) and its derivatives, including EGFP, ECFP, and EYFP, across many applications. The antibody's polyclonal format provides significant signal amplification and is available conjugated to a range of reporter molecules, including Alexa Fluor dyes.

Miranda Lewis, PhD, Marketing Manager for JIR, commented: "I'm excited that Jackson ImmunoResearch Anti-GFP antibodies have arrived. The utility of this antibody specificity, combined with the flexibility and reliability that our antibodies consistently offer, will benefit users. Researchers can now use our products across more applications, from robust protein screening, through to super resolution microscopy. Delivering such a powerful product is exciting because we strive to help our customers achieve their goals."

These antibodies are available for purchase now directly from Jackson ImmunoResearch in the USA and Europe or through official distribution partners worldwide.
