RCPath launches Patient Safety and Quality Strategy

The Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath) has published a new Patient Safety and Quality Strategy as part of its ongoing aim to improve patient safety.

The Patient Safety and Quality Strategy 2024-2029 sets out RCPath's vision for making real improvements in patient safety and ensuring high-quality pathology services. RCPath says the document has been shaped by the insights of its members and key stakeholders from across the profession, ensuring it addresses the real challenges they face every day.

RCPath states: “Over the past few months, we have worked closely with a range of experts from different pathology specialties and regional leaders to patient safety advocates. Their contributions have been at the heart of this strategy, and we are incredibly grateful for their time and expertise.”

The strategy focuses on six key areas:

  • Improving quality and patient safety
  • Supporting and developing our workforce
  • Embracing digital and technological advances
  • Staying ahead with regulatory compliance
  • Encouraging collaboration across the healthcare system
  • Communicating effectively with all our stakeholders

Each of these areas has been carefully developed to ensure RCPath is ready to tackle the future of pathology with a focus on safety, innovation, and excellence.
