Starlab's commitment to excellence, exceptional quality, and seeking sustainable solutions for the laboratory has been celebrated with the prestigious Product of the Year 2024 award in the Liquid Handling category by Labo.de readers.
As is tradition, Labo.de engaged its readership to select their top laboratory products that significantly enhance their work in the lab. This year's nominations were extensive, with over 17 submissions spanning 6 categories.
Nominees were evaluated on various criteria including novelty, innovation, marketability, consumer benefits, production process enhancements, unique selling points, and sustainability credentials.
Starlab’s TipOne Sterile Refill emerged as a standout contender, garnering high scores across all criteria, particularly excelling in novelty, innovation, and sustainability. The plastic-saving refill system with its packaging made from 100% recycled plastic resonated strongly with voters.
Starlab’s TipOne pipette tip system has continually evolved since its launch, and the addition of the sterile refill in 2005 marked another significant stride towards making pipetting more sustainable. The introduction in July last year of manufacturing the refill packaging from 100% recycled plastic was an additional development warmly welcomed by scientists worldwide.
This award marks a significant milestone for the Starlab Group, acting as testament to their pursuit to make a difference. Starlab’s sustainable journey does not end here: they remain committed to working towards providing top-tier consumables that not only meet the highest quality standards, but that also help laboratories minimise their environmental impact.
