SHOT and JPAC present safe transfusions webinar

Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT) and Joint United Kingdom (UK) Blood Transfusion and Tissue Transplantation Services Professional Advisory Committee (JPAC) have joined forces to present a collaborative webinar that will provide an overview of JPAC with a focus on safe donor selection to ensure safe transfusions.

‘Safe blood donations to ensure safe transfusions - Insights from JPAC’ will take place on Tuesday 5 December, between 1-2pm. The 60-minute webinar is free to access but you will need to register to be able to attend.

The webinar will cover the remit, responsibilities and commitee structures of JPAC and its collaboration with other organisations. This session will also include Blood Donor Selection Guidelines, how these are developed and their importance in ensuring safe transfusions with some illustrative examples.

This webinar will be relevant to all health care professionals involved in anywhere along the journey of blood – Blood Donation teams, Clinical Support teams and Donor Medical teams in the Blood Services, laboratory staff, clinicians, transfusion practitioners and haemovigilance specialists, as well as quality assurance professionals.

The hour-long webinar provides an excellent opportunity for CPD through reflective practice and will include a 15-minute interactive Q&A session.
