Lab Innovations announces keynote speakers

Lab Innovations has announced its keynote speakers for this year, with Maggie Philbin OBE and Amazon jungle scientist Rosa Vásquez Espinoza headlining the Royal Society of Chemistry Theatre at the event.

This year’s show, taking place on 1-2 November, 2023, at the NEC, Birmingham, is set to be the biggest Lab Innovations yet, with the show expanding its floorplan following the success of 2022’s show, which saw the highest attendance rate in the show’s history.

One of the greatest opportunities visitors to Lab Innovations have is to learn from the brightest scientists, inventors and discoverers. The keynote speakers in the Royal Society of Chemistry Theatre are leaders in their field, with great stories and insights to share with you.

Maggie Philbin OBE has worked in radio and television for over 30 years on a wide range of science, medical and technology programmes. She is a co-founder and CEO of TeenTech CIC, an award-winning organisation helping young people, their parents and teachers understand more about the real opportunities in science, technology, and engineering. Maggie will be sharing her insights on ethical innovation on 1 November at 1pm, bringing a unique perspective on technology and diversity.

Dr Rosa Vásquez Espinoza is a chemical biologist, conservationist, National Geographic Explorer, and award-winning artist. Rosa travels to the most extreme environments in the planet from the Amazon to Yellowstone’s acidic, boiling waters searching for tiny creatures, from microbes to stingless bees, to create big changes in the world. In the Royal Society of Chemistry Theatre on 2 November at 1pm, Rosa will be sharing her secrets of the Amazon with you and how these insights will help you improve your laboratory’s sustainability.
