IBMS Congress 2023: a further opportunity to link learning to the laboratory

The fifteenth iteration in the biennial IBMS Congress series will return to the International Convention Centre in Birmingham in a little over three months. The focus once again will be on the very best that biomedical science and commercial colleagues have to offer. Here, Pathology in Practice provides the first of three further previews in the run up to this important four-day event.

An investment in learning and development lies at the very heart of the Congress experience. Change continues to happen in pathology at an almost unprecedented pace, and many biomedical scientists are extending their knowledge and skills beyond their own specialty as services and departments merge, technologies are shared across scientific disciplines, and responsibilities are extended. This is where Congress ticks so many boxes. Over four days there will be over 300 lectures across 15 different subjects and specialties. This is science like nowhere else, as the following taste of the Congress Plenary sessions, support staff programme, and brief previews of the cellular pathology, clinical chemistry, cytopathology and haematology scientific programmes illustrate.

Congress Keynote Plenary

During the opening Plenary session of Congress, delegates will have the opportunity to hear the views, thoughts and opinions of the best in their field, and to leave with a clearer understanding of what is happening in pathology to help better manage their services and careers.
