Annual BSMT Microbiology Conference: book before 10 April for discounted rates

Register now for the British Society for Microbial Technology (BSMT) 38th Annual Microbiology Conference, as early bird booking rates are only available until 10 April.

With the title ‘Current topics in microbiology and infection’, the Conference takes place on Thursday 11 May at the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon, London, NW9 5LL.

Click here to register for the Conference at the discounted rate of £95:00 (full rate of £110 after 10 April). The rate for full-time students is £45. The event fee includes morning coffee, light refreshments and lunch.

  • Rapid sequencing techniques for the detection of AMR and their use in typing and Infection Control; Dr Nathanial Storey,  Department of Bioinformatics, Great Ormond Street Hospital, London
  • The advantages and disadvantages of molecular methods over culture in the detection of orthopaedic infections; Dr Kevin Cole, Senior BMS, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle
  • Molecular detection of enteric pathogens, results of a network wide analysis of the use of the Serosep EntericBio Gastro Panel 2; Michael Perry, Lead Clinical Scientist, Molecular Diagnostic Unit, Public Health Wales, Cardiff
  • Group A streptococcal infections and other infections in children in the post-pandemic period; Dr Charlene Rodrigues, Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases, St Mary's Hospital, London and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Dr Kate Templeton, BSMT President and Professor Brian Duerden CBE, will chair the conference.
