London Medical Laboratory deploys Cirdan’s next-generation LIS

London Medical Laboratory (LML) has improved its efficiency and enhanced annual revenue growth by deploying Cirdan’s next-generation laboratory information system, ULTRA. ULTRA improves the quality of patient care by delivering more timely and accurate results to both clinicians and patients.

LML offers pathology testing solutions across a range of disciplines including clinical biochemistry, immunology, haematology, sexual health screening and molecular biology. Following increased demands for testing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, LML has focused on long-term planning for its business. To ensure the laboratory could meet the business goals of today and the future, they required a next generation laboratory information system (LIS) to support its talented laboratory teams.

With ‘phase 1’ of go live complete, ULTRA now provides laboratory workflow support, multiple critical systems’ interfaces, and vital management insights. Future phases will see the Cirdan team supporting LML in their use of ULTRA to achieve future strategic business goals.

London Medical Laboratory is already seeing the benefits of deploying ULTRA. When asked about the impact the LIS has made so far, Benjamin Timm, LIMS IT Project Manager at London Medical Laboratory, commented, “The Cirdan team have been phenomenal during the intense part of the hypercare period. We are delighted with our deployment of ULTRA and the dedication and commitment the team at Cirdan have shown to improving our laboratory efficiency and workflows.”

Moving forward, LML and Cirdan have outlined plans for future phases of ULTRA post go-live, with both organisations committed to continuing to work together to provide smarter solutions. The team at London Medical Laboratory are excited by Cirdan’s development roadmap for ULTRA, with a particular focus on ULTRA Web, the revamped user interface. ULTRA Web has been designed to enhance the end-user experience, saving clinicians valuable time and resources by producing state-of-the-art reports and using automation software to end repetitive tasks, making digital transformation within the lab a more accessible reality.
