Determination of factor IX activity in human plasma simplified

The PrecisionBioLogic CRYOcheck range of frozen plasmas and diagnostic kits for haemostasis is available in the UK exclusively from Alpha Laboratories.

It now includes the Chromogenic Factor IX (FIX) assay, for determination of FIX activity in human plasma, as an aid in the management of haemophilia B in individuals aged two years or older.

The new kit is the only chromogenic assay offered in a frozen format with a straightforward protocol. It demystifies chromogenic FIX testing, which is often perceived as being more complex to run than a one-stage clotting assay (OSA). With this kit, simply thaw the vials in a standard water bath, load them on your automated coagulation analyser, and you’re ready to go. With only four separate components, provided in convenient colour-coded vials, running the assay is very straightforward.

Designed for automation with excellent onboard stability Chromogenic Factor IX is currently available for the ACL Top family of analysers, with protocols for other analysers in development.

The CE-marked kit is suitable for testing extended half-life FIX replacement products, it has excellent linearity and LoQ of 0.7%. The product format is suitable for small-volume testing but is easily scalable for laboratories with larger test volumes. Unused reagents can be re-frozen for even more flexibility.
