In March next year, the biennial IBMS Congress will return to the International Convention Centre in Birmingham. The event will focus once again on the very best that biomedical science and commercial colleagues have to offer.
The full programme for the 2022 Biomedical Science Congress is now available. Rather than cancel Congress, originally planned for September, this biennial four-day conference has been rescheduled for Monday 14 to Thursday 17 March 2022. Commenting on this change; IBMS President Allan Wilson said: “While it is a longer interval between events than usual, what makes Congress such a valuable and memorable part of the profession is the opportunity to come together in one place. By moving Congress to next March, there is every chance of being able to meet together safely, and gain the maximum professional and personal benefit that delegates and visitors expect from Congress.
“It will also be an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate a unique period in the profession’s history. Biomedical scientists have played a critical role in the testing for SARS-CoV-2 infection and the diagnosis of COVID-19 and its health effects, while still maintaining the vital work of the UK’s laboratory medicine service. After a year like no other, there is much of which to be proud; Congress 2022 will be a celebration of biomedical science and its central role in the delivery of healthcare.”
