Menarini Diagnostics has expanded its HistoDream range of equipment with the new semi-automated HistoDream M microtome, which maximises operator safety during use, with features such as a finger guard and a hand lock in every position.
HistoDream M allows an ergonomic work environment with the smooth-running hand wheel, arm rest and the inbuilt touchscreen. The HistoDream M offers maximum productivity as the antistatic high-capacity waste tray allows users to work for longer without stops and minimises the time required for cleaning.
As a companion to the HistoDream M, the EasyCUT electrostatic remover neutralises electrostatic charges during the cutting process, helping to achieve a perfect, non-sticky, wrinkle-free ribbon without the scattering effect. This is possible thanks to its special ion-containing airflow, which also helps the operator in flattening the ribbon without blowing. The EasyCUT can be used together with the HistoDream M or with any other commercial microtome.
Last year the company launched its first HistoDream range product, the HistoDream EW embedding unit. This ergonomic embedding system has a tracking module that will allow the operator to scan cassette barcodes and visually check that the biopsies/specimens in the cassette conforms to their original shape and numbers. This is possible as images taken at the time of dissection and cassetting are displayed on the HistoDream embedding unit tracking module.
