Tim Woods collates abstracts that reflect proceedings of the UK NEQAS for Blood Coagulation annual scientific and participants’ two-day meeting, which was held at Sheffield Hallam University earlier in the year.
The UK NEQAS for Blood Coagulation (UK NEQAS BC) annual scientific and participants’ meeting, Clinical and Laboratory Haemostasis 2019, was held in June at The Atrium Conference Centre, Sheffield Hallam University. Over 400 delegates attended over the two days of the event, which covered clinical, laboratory and research aspects of haemostasis and thrombosis. In addition to presentations from national and international experts, there was a poster display together with a commercial exhibition. This review has been compiled from information made available for the meeting.
Professor Isobel Walker (UK NEQAS BC Director) opened the first day’s proceedings with a welcome address to delegates, thanking all speakers, exhibitors and organisers of the event before introducing Dr Rhona Maclean (Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) to chair the opening session.
