This year’s Microbe symposium, the 17th biennial event in this series, will return to Sheffield in September. Here, Pathology in Practice provides a preview, including the vital commercial element of proceedings.
The Microbe 2018 symposium will be held on 21–23 September at the Hilton Hotel in Sheffield. Since the first Microbe meeting was held in 1986, the events have provided high-quality, value-for-money symposia for local and national biomedical scientists. In recent years, Microbe has attracted delegates from around the world, and is regularly attended by delegates from across Europe.
The venue, which is the event’s regular biennial weekend home, is ideal for visitors, being located by the main A57 Parkway into Sheffield, and just a short distance from major interchanges. Many of the hotel rooms overlook the canal basin, which is frequently full of colourful canal boats. All lectures, the exhibition and social activities are held in the hotel, avoiding the need for any travel during the course of the three-day event.
