In September the twelfth in the biennial Congress series will return to the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, the focus this year being on linking learning to the laboratory. Here, Pathology in Practice provides an early taster of the event and associated exhibition.
The countdown to Congress is now ticking, with the upcoming event packed with so much content that there is something for everyone on the extensive programme, which this year has been extended to cover four days (Sunday to Wednesday).
According to IBMS President Ian Sturdgess, anyone who has never been to Congress may think that ‘amazing’ is an inflated way to describe the event, but in this instance it is most appropriate. There is no other event like Congress, and it is the high point of each president’s term of office. It is a great thrill to see one of the most prestigious UK venues packed with delegates and visitors, and an exhibition supported by the biggest names in the diagnostics industry.
The Congress exhibition is the UK’s largest showcase for many of the leading companies and organisations displaying and demonstrating instrumentation, equipment and professional services. It is also free to attend and incorporates Technology Showcase sessions open to exhibition visitors on the Monday afternoon.
