Hologic has announced a five-year contract for its ThinPrep Pap tests and processing equipment with Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. With this agreement, Royal Derby Hospital will be the largest ThinPrep processing laboratory in the UK, with an estimated 150,000 samples processed annually.

Derby Hospital’s conversion to Hologic’s ThinPrep tests and processing equipment was completed on time within the planned 10?week time frame. The ThinPrep roll?out included conversion training for laboratory staff, training of over 400 GP practices in the Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire regions, and reconfiguration of the preparation laboratory for the ThinPrep autoloader processors.
