New leadership and expansion at Lorne

Lorne Laboratories has announced the appointment of a new managing director to lead the company into its next phase of development. Ian John (pictured) joined the Lorne team at the beginning of July, having spent many years in the automotive industry.

“Ian brings a wealth of experience of developing businesses and maximising market potential,” said Ken Davis, Lorne’s chairman. “We realised that to achieve the very ambitious plans for Lorne the current board and management team would benefit from fresh input. We were very lucky that Ian was available to join the team very quickly so that no momentum was lost.”

The company’s ambitious plans include the expansion of manufacturing capacity with the addition of the unit next door to its Berkshire premises. This expansion more than doubles the current capacity, and is a direct result of record sales. Lorne has achieved growth both from existing customers and new customers in expanding economies. Vice-chairman Richard Lambert explained: “We have an amazing team here at Lorne that has worked together to achieve record sales in 2012. The technical team has been working very hard to keep up with the new registrations and re-registrations in our overseas territories.”

Lorne works with transfusion services, hospitals and the MOD as well as scientists and clinicians in laboratories around the world. With nearly 40 years’ experience, this independent company has earned a reputation for manufacturing high-quality products and providing great customer service.
