Fixed correlated colour temperature with LEDs

CoolLED’s light-emitting diode (LED) technology now offers an attractive alternative to the halogen lamps previously used for broad-spectrum illumination through the diascopic (transmitted) port of a microscope.

A significant advantage offered by LEDs is that the correlated colour temperature (CCT) figure remains fixed and stable with changes in intensity. This means the colour of illumination remains constant throughout its lifetime.

The pE-100-WH1 is a simple-to-operate LED illumination unit that provides a broad-spectrum white output. Illumination is controllable, stable, and instant, and greater operational convenience is combined with illumination that is repeatable and will provide results which can be compared and quantified reliably.

As LEDs have a lifetime measured in tens of thousands of hours, savings in replacement bulbs and disposal costs can be significant over a period of a few years.
