The Health & Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) has published a report on information about the NHS Cervical Screening Programme in England in 2014–15 and key statistics from the previous 10 years.
The report shows that the number of women undergoing cervical screening has fallen. A total of 4.31 million women aged 25 to 64 were invited for screening in 2014–15 and 3.12 million women were tested, representing a fall of 3.3% from 2013–14 when 3.23 million were tested.
The report includes statistics on the call and recall programme for women aged 25 to 64 years, as well as statistics on screening samples examined by pathology laboratories and on referrals to colposcopy clinics.
