Following the establishment of an internal life science quality control laboratory and recruitment of experienced histologists, Atom Scientific’s commitment to providing market-leading quality has taken a significant step forward. Since January 2011, Atom Scientific has been undertaking a significant investment programme in all elements of the company’s infrastructure, with a specific focus on product quality.
Establishing a new quality standard
With the establishment of an internal life science laboratory, the company has been able to bring all quality control (QC) in-house. With processing, sectioning and staining facilities, the company was able to take a giant leap forward in 100% live active testing of all batches.
Recruiting experience
The company was pleased to welcome Yvonne Sinclair to its team in June 2011 Yvonne’s career extends back 35 years in the NHS and her last post was as a cellular pathology service manager at Whiston Hospital on Merseyside.
Yvonne is an exceptionally experienced histologist and also had a quality assurance professional role as a UK NEQAS Histopathology regional coordinator in the north-west of England. When the regions merged nationally for UK NEQAS to become Clinical Pathology Accreditation (CPA) accredited, Yvonne continued to be a lead assessor for haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and special staining techniques.
