More than the sum of its parts: the IBMS Congress exhibition

At the IBMS Biomedical Science Congress, almost every exhibitor will display their most recent technological advances and latest products. More than just an exhibition, this aspect of the biennial event offers, which is open both to delegates and visitors, has something for everyone.

The main focus of the biennial three-day IBMS Biomedical Science Congress event is the cutting-edge lecture programme, which will give delegates access to the latest scientific and strategic developments and allow Health and Care Professions Council (HPC) registrants the opportunity to acquire a significant number of continuing professional development (CPD) credits. It will concentrate on learning outcomes to deliver a productive output for every delegate in attendance, and will offer small group sessions on focused topics, including breakfast sessions, a half-day support staff programme and masterclass options. The result will be the most comprehensive three-day programme of content delivered through various meeting formats that will make a significant contribution to the personal professional portfolio for every attendee.

While the lecture programme may be the event’s raison d’etre, of equal importance is the supporting top-class exhibition which will have on display the full spectrum of instruments, equipment, technologies and techniques. It will help to put biomedical science practice into context and also provide a forum in which CPD points can be earned through reflective practice.

Congress exhibition
The exhibition, which occupies Halls 3 and 4 and also extends out into the registration area, balcony areas and corridors of the International Convention Centre (ICC), plays a vital role in the total Congress experience, as it combines technology with networking. It comprises the free circulation area of the event, and is the place where delegates view the latest equipment, discuss methodologies and generally enhance their knowledge of what is on the market, as well as take refreshment breaks and generally discuss the issues of the day with friends, colleagues, exhibitors and peers.
