Slide and block storage solutions

Storage of tissue blocks and slides in the laboratory has the advantage of total control over archiving and is more cost-effective than external storage.

The Leica storage system has been on the market under the Surgipath brand for almost 20 years, providing safe, long-term archiving for laboratory specimens. The system comprises modular metal units (48 x 48 cm) that can be assembled in a wide variety of combinations to support a laboratory’s changing needs and growth. They can be stacked 10 units high (storing up to 64,000 slides or 30,000 blocks), thus freeing valuable space.

The system includes plinths and wheeled plinths, is simple to assemble or rearrange, and comes in various colours, with each unit storing up to 6430 slides or 3000 blocks. In addition, units are available for larger slides, transparencies or supercassette blocks.
