An international gathering of transfusion specialists, held in Lisbon, was an Ideal opportunity for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics to present user experiences and preview its latest immunohaematology platform.
Lisbon, Portugal, is a city with a proud history of successful international exploration and discovery. In June 2011 it was the venue for the 21st Regional Congress of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) and featured an important satellite symposium, ‘What’s now and what’s new in science-driven safe, efficient transfusion laboratory solutions’.
The symposium, hosted by Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (OCD), brought into focus ways in which ORTHO AutoVue systems currently help transfusion medicine professionals to work more efficiently and improve patient care. Some 250 delegates heard UK-based ORTHO AutoVue users present their experiences of the benefits they are able to deliver to patients, the practical advantages of OCD’s e-Connectivity and the strategic direction of transfusion medicine.
