Immunofluorescence for immunodiagnostics

The new EUROStar III Plus fluorescence microscope continues EUROIMMUN’s tradition of developing systems for immunodiagnostics. The Bluelight light-emitting diode (LED) light source provides a defined light intensity which is kept perfectly constant throughout the life of the unit.

Light-emitting diodes are more cost-effective, environmentally friendly and secure compared to mercury vapour lamps. They require only a tenth of the electrical power of a 50-watt HBO lamp at comparable brightness because they emit energy almost entirely as light instead of heat.

The LED has a life expectancy of up to 50,000 hours – with uninterrupted operation eight hours a day, the LED has a lifespan of 25 years. Frequent switching does not impair performance and the Bluelight does not emit ultraviolet radiation and will not explode.

For digital photography, a phototube with a convenient 50/50 beam splitter is fitted as standard.
