Specific ELISA for varicella immune status

Binding Site’s new VaccZyme VZV glycoprotein IgG low-level enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is a sensitive and specific quantitative assay for use in the accurate determination of immune status to varicella zoster virus (VZV), an important test for immunocompromised patients and pregnant women.

The kit has a high sensitivity measuring range of 10–810 miu/mL, which is ideal for the accurate measurement of post-vaccination antibody levels. High assay specificity is achieved using purified viral glycoprotein as the capture antigen, in common with the ‘gold standard’ FAMA reference method, rather than the viral cell lysate used in many alternative assays. In addition, the VaccZyme VZV glycoprotein ELISA is easily automated.
