Anachem has introduced Bambanker, a serumfree medium designed to improve cell recovery rates. Bambanker enables long-term storage of cultured cells directly at –80°C and in liquid nitrogen. The medium can be used to freeze and preserve valuable and sensitive tumour or nontumour culture cells.
A serum-free medium guarantees that there is no risk of contamination from unidentified ingredients, virus particles, serum proteins or mycoplasmas that have the potential to interfere with cells. With a premixed formulation, Bambanker eliminates the risk of batch-to-batch inconsistency from serum variations.
