Quantitative analysis of Western blots

GRI can now supply the FluorChem Q system from Alpha Innotech. The FluorChem Q is a fully quantitative imaging system for fluorescent and chemiluminescent Western blots, which offers ultimate flexibility for visualising and quantifying samples from a wide variety of sources.

Imaging is made easy by Alpha Innotech's protocol-driven interface. Users can switch rapidly from single-channel to multichannel fluorescence or chemiluminescence imaging by selecting a preconfigured protocol. This eliminates the need to remember the settings for each type of imaging.

The FluorChem Q features a 4.2 megapixel scientific-grade camera for publication-ready images, a six-position filter wheel for flexible fluorescence detection, and excitation at 475 nm, 534 nm and 632 nm and optional 365 nm and 245 nm, providing the ability to image CY3, CY2, CY5 or Q dots. In addition, a UV transilluminator visualises fluorescent gels, and white-light table is available for colorimetric samples like coomassie blue and silver-stained protein gels.
