One microscope, seven contrast techniques

Nikon has expanded its Eclipse series with the new LV-Universal Design Microscope (UDM). Bringing together NikonÆs renowned CFI 60 and CFI LU60 infinity optics, the LV-UDM has a truly modular design, and allows seven different contrast techniques to be selected.

From individual cells to multistained tissue, a wide range of samples can be visualised using reflected or transmitted light, epifluorescence, phase contrast, quantitative polarisation, and both surface and through-the-sample differential interference contrast.

Coupling the LV-UDM with the wellestablished Nikon digital camera range and the NIS Elements software, the microscope provides a capable and comprehensive solution to the most challenging mixed illumination and contrasting applications.

The LV-UDM can be supplied as a manual version, the LV100D-U, or as a motorised option, the LV100DA-U. With its capacity for Z-stacks and extended depth of focus, the LV100DA-U meets all requirements for digital imaging and analysis. Both versions deliver the highest levels of resolution, contrast and transmission, and provide clear aberration-free images.
