Over 130 delegates from hospitals around the UK attended two one-day seminars held recently by Sebia UK at Studley Castle.
Guest speakers Craig Webster (Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust) and Sue Martin (Kingston Hospital NHS Trust) were invited to relate their experiences using the fully automated Capillarys system in a routine clinical laboratory. Other sessions examined serum and urine immunotyping using capillary electrophoresis, new isoelectric focusing gel techniques for cerebrospinal fluid, and á1-antitrypsin phenotyping with high-resolution gel immunofixation. In addition, the new Neurosoft interpretation software was introduced to users of Capillarys 2.
The seminars formed part of an ongoing initiative by Sebia UK to support customers and to help clinical laboratory personnel make the best use of their skills.
