Evaporating to the next generation

The new second-generation EZ-2 centrifugal evaporator, now available from Genevac, further extends the benchmark performance, operational versatility and ease of use of its market-leading predecessor.

Incorporating state-of-the-art technology, the EZ-2 is able to evaporate solvents typically in half the time of traditional evaporator designs. Further time savings are made as users can see solvents as they collect in the trap, and emptying the collection vessel is simple, requiring no defrosting.

Running the EZ-2 is simple. Just load the samples, select the maximum safe temperature for samples, select solvent type and then hit 'start'. Offering true unattended operation, the EZ-2 requires no user training û even a beginner can use the system competently within five minutes. Requiring no peripherals for operation, the compact EZ-2 fits neatly on a laboratory bench or in a fume hood. All key components on the robust and reliable system can be serviced by the user.

The EZ-2 has been designed to concentrate or completely dry samples. The system will accommodate a wide selection of sample holders, enabling evaporation from the most common sample container formats, such as roundbottomed flasks up to 500 mL, tubes up to 160 mm long, custom reaction blocks and shallow or deep-well microplates.

Furthermore, to meet the need of the many life science companies that are switching their compound generation programmes from serial chemistry to parallel synthesis, the EZ-2 is also able to take tubes, flasks and vials directly from the synthesis process, eliminating manual handling, increasing recovery and removing the chance of cross contamination.
