BayerÆs day in history

On 21 November, staff at Bayer in Newbury helped to record another major event in the æBayer TapestryÆ, when they attended the UK launch of the ADVIA Centaur CP, the latest compact immunodiagnostics analyser from Bayer Diagnostics.

The launch was timed to coincide with other memorable events û Pilgrim Fathers reach America (1620); first manned flight in a hot air balloon made by French physicist Jean Franτois PilΓtre de Rozier (1783); Thomas Edison announced his invention of the phonograph (1877); the first link between the ARPANET nodes, a military network widely regarded as the precursor of the internet (1969); and the first flight of Concorde from London to New York (1977) û that took place on the same day in years past. Everyone who attended the Newbury event was given a signed and numbered æOne Day in HistoryÆ charter to mark their attendance.
