Camlab goes for growth

Camlab, the Cambridge-based laboratory supplies company, has announced plans for substantial growth as it enters its second half-century.

A new senior management team headed by managing director Ben Sunderland intends to expand activities in the life science and biotechnology markets, building on Camlab's acquisition of Whatman Labsales in 1999, which further enhanced the established businesses in laboratory supplies, instrumentation and water analysis. "We are re-engineering our brand identity to reflect a new, exciting phase in Camlab's development." said Ben Sunderland. "Our portfolio growth has already started, and last year we were delighted to conclude several new distribution agreements including world-class brands like Gilson, Sartorius, Mettler and Cecil. However, we are looking for additional distribution opportunities at home and overseas for our own-brand plasticware range, which includes new and innovative products."
