The capturing of fluorescence images is easier than ever thanks to new motorised accessories for the Nikon Eclipse 80i (pictured), making it simpler to choose the most appropriate combination.

It was feedback from customers who are involved in cuttingedge biological research that inspired Nikon to develop a motorised epi-fluorescence system for the Eclipse 80i. This latest extension in the line-up of epi-fluorescence accessories for the 80i is affordable, without compromising manual options or choice of digital imaging heads. The attachment has a motorised shutter, filter turret and six-position DIC nosepiece. And the new accessory also incorporates the popular functionality of the manual epi-fluorescence attachment. A dedicated remote controller provides easy management of the motorised components and incorporates clockwise and counter-clockwise switches for rotating the epi-fluorescence filter turret and nosepiece, as well as a simple shutter switch. The LED indicator (1-6) shows which filter cube is in the optical path. The buttons themselves are also lit so that they can be easily recognised in a dark room. Brightness of LED indicators and buttons can be adjusted to suit the operatorÆs individual requirements.
