Drugs-of-abuse screening expanded

Bayer Diagnostics has announced a significant menu expansion for its ADVIA 1650 and ADVIA 2400 automated chemistry analysers.

Nine new tests for drugs of abuse, including cannabinoid, opiate (300 and 2000), benzodiazepine, methadone, phencyclidine, propoxyphene, cocaine, amphetamines and barbiturate, are now available on the ADVIA 1650 and ADVIA 2400 analysers, which will provide laboratories with the ability to perform initial patient screening for use of these drugs. Bayer's ADVIA 1650 and 2400 systems provide high-speed, automation-compatible testing platforms with a comprehensive menu of almost 70 assays, including general and special chemistry, specific protein, therapeutic drug monitoring, and drugs-of-abuse methods. With open channels for user-defined applications, ADVIA chemistry systems offer unparalleled, cost-effective workstation consolidation.
